The webinar will be delivered by Daphne who is widely accepted as one of the country’s leading experts on all aspects of NHS partnership and regulatory law. She is consistently ‘top ranked’ by Chambers UK and frequently speaks and writes on medical partnership matters. Daphne is credited in the GP Partnership Review and is recognized as a specialist in all aspects of running a primary care business. Complaints Training - 9th July 2024 (FULL)

Due to popular demand we are pleased to confirm that the LMC will be hosting another Complaints Training session on Tuesday 9th July 2024, 2.00 - 5.00pm at The Hilton Leicester, Junction 21 approach, Leicester, LE19 1WQ.

The session will be delivered by Lee Bennett – NHSE Strategic Complaints Lead along with Cathie Cunnington, NHSE Complaints/Carers/Patient Experience Senior Manager. We are also seeking attendance from our ICB colleagues to seek their input as they now have delegated responsibility for managing complaints.

The face-to-face sessions aims to be interactive and informative for our members when dealing with complaints in General Practice. We have a capacity of 50 for this event and it will be a first come first served basis.

The session will cover the following:

  • Getting the basics right – understanding the requirements under the 2009 Complaints Regulations
  • Do it once, do it well – getting it right from the beginning to ensure compliance and less time spent dealing with regulators
  • Understanding the roles of different organisations – including the General Medical Council and Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman
  • The art of the apology – why saying sorry the right way matters
  • How to impress CQC – including the new assessment approach
  • Changes in the commissioning landscape and what this means for complaints handling
  • Customer service and reputation – does it matter and what does it mean for complaints handling
  • Going from good to great – tips throughout the session if you want to be the best complaints handler

Want to know how to take your grassroots digital campaigning to the next level? We are excited to be holding a bespoke digital training session open to all GPs and LMC staff.

The session is designed to help LMCs, surgeries, and individual GPs expend their reach and influence online. It will provide the context, content and guidance needed to influence a range of audiences including MPs, journalists, and patients.

What we’ll cover:

  • Key principles of digital campaigning (with collaborative exercises)
  • Platforms and content
  • Practice tools

Hosted by Gregor Poynton

Gregor is a digital campaign and communications specialist with extensive experience providing senior counsel on politics, government, the media and reputation to FTSE 100 companies, governments, NGOs, and multi-national organisations. He spent two periods working for the UK Labour Party where he advised senior politicians on communications, election, and political strategy. Gregor was also UK Political Director at Blue State Digital, the agency which led digital strategy for the 2008 and 2023 Barack Obama presidential campaigns.

There is no limit to the number of attendees per LMC/region, so please share widely! We also recognise that you have busy schedules so the session will be recorded and circulated afterwards.
